Washing Machine Sits Idle When Turned On

If you turn on the washing machine and nothing happens, obviously, the first thing to do is to check and make sure that the machine is plugged in and that there is power going to it. If there are no power issues, the problem may be that the washer has overheated. Turn it off for a couple of hours to let it cool down, and then try it again. Washing Machine is not Spinning

The washing machine will not operate at all if the lid isn't completely closed. If there is no spinning inside the machine, lift the lid to make sure that there is nothing obstructing it.
